जैन वर्ष, उसी क्रम में जिसमें वह मनाया जाता है — प्रत्येक दिन किसके लिए है, कैसे मनाया जाता है, और दोनों परंपराएँ एक ही ऋतु को किस प्रकार भिन्न रूप से मनाती हैं।
यहाँ प्रत्येक तिथि चंद्र-आधारित है: मास, पक्ष और तिथि। जैन पर्व यही है, और यह प्रत्येक वर्ष सही रहता है — ईस्वी तिथि के विपरीत, जो केवल एक बार सही होती।
